Objective of this Project: The purpose of this project is to demonstrate ability to manage the hiring process, from writing an effective job description, to conducting interviews.
Scenario
You are the owner of a large 10,000 square-foot fitness club in the Ottawa suburbs. Though it’s only been open for a short time, the club has amassed more than 800 members, and additional staff must be hired ASAP to deal with the rapid increase.
For this assignment, you will use the information presented in the course to create an employee recruitment and staff compensation plan. Note that you MUST consult the course textbook to successfully answer the assignment questions.
All assignments should have a clear title page or title header that includes your name, course, assignment title and date. All assignments with more than one page should have page numbers, and headers are recommended (except on title pages). Remember to organize your information for easy reading with sub-headings where appropriate. Assignments should have references, even if it is just the textbook, in proper APA format.
You should use 12 point Times Roman font, with double spacing (except in any grids, which are single spaced in APA), and should be between 4-8 pages, not counting title page or references if they are on a separate page. Grids do not need to have lines visible, as long as they are easily readable and not too crowded.
Ensure that all references are cited and in APA style. You must cite the textbook.

Part 1: Writing job descriptions. (30 marks)
Utilizing the Key Elements of Job Descriptions outlined in Module 2, complete a job description for each of the three positions below. These descriptions will be posted on several online job boards to advertise and recruit qualified candidates. It may be helpful to look at job descriptions on search sites such as Indeed or Monster to see how the different elements are presented. At a minimum, you need to describe job responsibilities, requirements for the candidate and time/compensation components.
a) General Manager of a for-profit or corporate-based organization
b) Exercise Physiologist or Personal Trainer
c) Membership Consultant
Part 2: Interviewing. (12 marks)
You have completed the initial applicant screening and are now ready for the interview. For each of the three positions, develop two interview questions directly relevant to that role/position (not generic/general questions you could ask anyone). For each question, indicate elements of a strong answer, and a weak answer.
Part 3: The Job Offer. (8 marks)
The interview stage is complete and you are ready to make an offer. Indicate the compensation package you plan to offer each recruit. For each one, specify whether they are paid salary or hourly wage, their expected hours, and at least three other parts of their compensation package. At least two of the parts should be non-financial (ie. bonus or commission are financial). Demonstrate in your answers that you understand some of the motivations and needs of each of these three different employee roles.
