As discussed in class, the business case for sustainability has been well documented in both theory and in practice.  From attracting and retaining top talent to improving operational efficiency, an increasing number of local-global organizations are defining business strategy through a lens of sustainability in an effort to realize the plethora of business benefits. 

The goal of this assignment is to prepare you, an aspiring global business manager, with the knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively communicate the business case for sustainability.

Questions

1.Conduct exploratory research to identify four organizations with a sustainability strategy.  While you may wish to focus on organizations that you are interested in working for, be sure to select organizations of varying size, geographic location, etc.  List the organizations in a table, similar to the one included in Appendix A.

2.Conduct in-depth research to identify, for each organization, three distinct drivers (motivators) for business sustainability.  For example, Interface is an example of an organization that has attracted and retained top talent, created new markets and reduced operational expenses due to their sustainability strategy.   List each of the three drivers (motivators) on your table.  While some of the drivers among organizations may be the same, be sure to provide at least one unique driver per organization.

3.For each driver (12 in total) provide one reputable resource for information, in APA format.  Do not use the organizations website or related publications, as this information may be bias.

Select one organization, listed in your chart, to profile in greater detail.  Provide a 400 - 500 word explanation detailing the three drivers (motivators) for sustainability and how this approach has improved their triple bottom line performance.
