Data Analysis Assignment: Clean-up Raw Data, Verify Project Data & Create Visualizations

1. Technical Requirements: to complete this assignment you need an access to a computer with Excel software as well as a stable internet connection for the duration of the test, ie. 60min.

 

2. There are two other tabs in this spreadsheet: "Raw data" is related to the humanitarian workforce data generated from the last report coming form the human resources department  [These are all fake data].  "Project data" is related to the project status (technical and financial implementation rate; earned value and actual costs). [These are all fake data]

 

3. You have 60 min to complete this test, by the end of the test, you need to forward an Excel spreadsheet to [email protected]

 

4. The Excel spreadsheet is the minimum deliverable for the test. The candidate may choose, at her/his own will, to use other visualization software (Power BI, Tableau, etc.). If the candidate chooses to do so, a public web link will need to be sent to the recipient.

 

5. The "Project Data" are assuming a monitoring of project costs in Quarter #1, year = 2022.

1. Clean-up the dataset "Raw data". Please provide a narrative on any assumptions you are making in this process, if any (create a new tab to input your assumptions)

 

2. Verify dataset "Project Data". Provide comments on quality of data and identify any inconsistencies if any (add your narrative answers in the same tab then created in step #1). 

 

3. If applicable, identify cells with inconsistencies that hinders data analysis. Make recommendations on further improvement on data cleanup (use same tab than created in previous step #1).

 

4. Prepare data visualization of both "Raw Data" tab and "Project Data" tab.  Feel free to use the tool that you find the most useful for data visualization.

 

5. Create Pivot table for available information in "Raw Data" and "Project Data"
