Assignment Details:
In this assignment, you will research a company and report on their brand, their value proposition and their recruiting practices. Note that in their recruiting practices you need to refer to concepts studied in Chapter 5 such as advertisements, unsolicited resumes, the internet, mobile recruiting, job fairs, employee referrals, re-recruiting, professional associations, temporary agencies, etc.
You will then apply the concept of a realistic job preview to discuss what should be shared with that employee during the interview process to give them the most information possible and ensure a positive recruitment process.
Part 1: Company and Brand Information
• A brief description of the organization and their advertised brand
• What is their “value proposition”, or in other words why do people buy from them, work for them or invest in them? Use research to back up each statement, this is not an opinion piece but rather a research report!
Part 2: Recruiting Practices
• How does this business recruit new employees? Discuss their practice related to one or more concepts included in Chapter 5 related to recruiting.
• Using the realistic job preview concept, apply this to outlined three positive things you would share with a potential candidate, and three negative aspects about the position and/or the company that they should be aware of before taking a position with this organization (again research is necessary for this area!).
