This part of the assignment you will be starting an imaginary business in yourchosen industry. The type of business must be specificFor example, “a retailbusiness in Oil & Gas” is too vague. “Gas station” or “Propane tank home-supplyservice” are much more appropriate. Note: Please pick a type of business onwhich you can find details about online.Once you have selected your business, submit the following on Moodle (via theassignment link labelled Business Portfolio Assignment Part 2):
1. Title page (as in Part 1)
2. Analysis section:Open this section first by stating what business you have chosen. Then, write ananalysis about your business in three parts: i) Global Business, ii) Forms ofBusiness Ownership and iii) Entrepreneurship based on the material you havecollected for the three topics. Each analysis should also refer back to thematerial you have learned in the course, and be between 250 and 500 words pertopic, although you can go a little over if you need to.
3. Reference List Citation:
At the end of the assignment please provide a properly formatted (APA style)Reference List. Be sure to submit Part 2 as a PDF, and before the deadline. For the Business in a Global Environment section, perhaps consider how FDI has helped your chosen business from your industry — operations in nations with lower wage expectations? Different regulatory climate? Etc. — there is a lot of media out there on why Tesla built its Gigafactory in Nevada for example.
For the Forms of Business Ownership section, you could (for example) consider talking about hostile takeovers, or mergers/acquisitions that took place in the industry. Anything covered in the material for that week is fair game.
The same could be said for Entrepreneurship. Were there any examples of automobile manufacturers (or whatever your chosen business is) that were founded as startups? Or, was there something innovative that an automotive manufacturer introduced as part of their product line?
Remember to collect at least one piece of media for each section (so you need at least three for Part 2, but no more than twelve), and please cite.
