You are required to present your own five-year career development plan in Canada. Your plan should address and consider the following items
a) Provide an Action – Plan outlining what do you intend to do professionally in the next 5 years (1st year, 2nd year….)?

· What position, field or industry?
· What location/place?
b) If you in intend to work for an organization, what are the possible promotional opportunities for career growth and what senior level position do you wish to obtain? If you are not interested in leadership/management positions, what is your desired longterm position
c) An inventory of your current skills, abilities, training, and education and the required qualifications for your desired position?
d) Job satisfaction attributes – Why this job or particular position? What are the features of a job that are important to you (pay, job security, career ladder, benefits, personality, values etc.)?
e) Identify three action steps that are crucial to achieving your stated career goals and objectives.
f) Identify potential barriers that might prevent you from reaching your stated career goals and objectives.
