Section I: Choose two of the following topics and construct an essay on each. You must use proper essay format (introduction, body, and conclusion when you can). However, due to the exam being written in real time you will not be graded on spelling, punctuation, or sentence structure. That said, the answers need to be at least a little bit legible as I cannot grade what I cannot read. All information including examples must be from the material either covered in class (Pearson Handbook and lecture notes) or from the reading responses (videos). Each essay is worth 7.5 marks for a total of 15 marks overall.
1. Identify and outline the four basic ways of writing a paper at the academic level. Which one do you prefer and tell me why you do. Give examples.
2. Outline the template to evaluating sources. Give examples.
3. When writing a paper there are five steps of basic organization. Identify and explain them. Give examples.
4. Outline and explain, using the steps talked about in class, how one reads critically. Give examples.
5. Identify and outline the steps to planning your research. Give examples.
