Week 5 Readings and Alienation Dimensions

I have provided all the necessary articles that provides context to answer these. Answers for each question should be approximately 300 words each. 2. On week 5, we read about different ways that work and the way work is organized impacts our everyday lives and our ability to live healthy and happy lives. Choose two of the 4 readings from that week. Explain the issue the author is addressing. Does this issue connect to a specific dimension of alienation? Is so, how? If not, why not? In the article by Jeremy Lent, he asks whether the pandemic could “lead to a meltdown of neoliberal norms that ultimately reshapes the dominant structures of our global civilization?” If, as some argue, the pandemic has the potential to bring back a stronger sense of community and collective responsibility to one another. Would this be good for work, from the perspective of workers? If yes, why do you think so? If no, why not? For question 3 I have included the article by Jermey Lent and have included the slides from that week to help with context. In the second half of the fall term we examined the rise of precarious work, some of the explanations for why precarity is rising, and some of the responses to precarious work. Several articles we read considered different strategies aimed at challenging the rise of precarious work. Choose two articles that explore responses to precarious work. Which approach do you think would be more effective? Why? For question 6 I have included 3 articles, please pick 2 of these articles to answer this question.
