This part of the assignment gives you the opportunity to demonstrate your ability to work with other, based upon the understanding of group and group dynamics.

You are required to use ONE of the work teams (your department) in a company as contextual basis. You are going to assess and analyse the team theories and tools. During this process you are required to analyse various factors and skills that assist, facilitate or hinder effective teamwork in action or on morale. You also have to consider appropriate philosophy regarding team performances and the impact on behaviours.

The report reflects on the various concepts and theories of the team performance, analysing team dynamics, team members’ roles and behaviours. You should include in the report, an explanation of what factors are instrumental in teams effectively achieving their work objectives and identify those aspects which threaten teams or deter them from achieving success and performing cohesive group work.  Suggested areas for discussion as listed below:

You are a Management Consultant hired by the senior management of an organisation of your choice (those in work should use your organisation of employment) to assess the current internal organisation environment and the employees’ performance.

The purpose of the analysis report will be to discuss and establish the influence that organisational culture and motivation has upon employee behaviours and performances in the workplace.

You will be required to identify and analyse the various organisational cultures and motivational theories, and to identify which one(s) could be found in your organisation. The discussion must then evaluate how the above-mentioned theories influence behaviours within organisations and how this affects the performance of your organization with relevant examples. It should also include how motivational theories and techniques have been applied in your organisation, supported by relevant examples. 
Finally, you will conclude with viable recommendations on how the organisation could improve the performance of their staff to meet organisational goals.
