Security Risk Assessment Assignment: Instructions and Rubric

1.    This assignment contains only ONE question that is set in both Malay and English.

2.    Answer in Malay or English.

3.    Learners are to submit assignment only in MsWord format unless specified otherwise. Please refrain from converting text/phrases into picture format such as .gif/ .jpeg/print screen / etc.

4.    Your assignment should be typed using 12 point Times New Roman font and 1.5 line spacing.

5.    Your assignment should be between 2500 to 3000 words excluding references. Do not copy the assignment question and instructions to your answer. Only assignment answer developed within the approximate word limit will be assessed. The number of words should be shown at the end of your assignment.

6.   Your assignment must be submitted between 30 October 2017 until 12 November 2017. Submission after 2 November 2017 will NOT be accepted.
7. Your assignment should be prepared individually. You should not copy another person’s assignment. You should also not plagiarize another person’s work as your own.

PENAKSIRAN / EVALUATION
This assignment accounts for 50% of the total marks for the course and shall be assessed based on the Rubric attached .

PURPOSE/ TUJUAN
Theft of product from the manufacturing facility has become a growing concern for the Chief Executive Officer  (CEO) of a firm. It poses significant threats to the revenue and image of the firm. Intelligence received suggests that there are involvement of both internal and external parties in smuggling out the products. This information is yet to be verified.

The firm has conducted an internal investigation into the theft.  Several employees at all levels  were interviewed.  In the course of investigation, it was revealed that there were many weaknesses with the existing security measures at the facility.

The CEO has called you as a security manager to assist the investigation team by reviewing the existing security measures and make recommendations for improvement.

REQUIREMENT/ KEPERLUAN

1.    Based on the above scenario, you are required to conduct a security risk assessment on your own firm or choose any organisation which you are familiar with. Identify the assets to be protected at the facility, potential threats and vulnerabilities. Examine the existing security measures and identify the weaknesses. 

2.    Provide the recommendations for improvement. What benefits or return on investment (ROI) do you think would result from your proposed changes?
