The objective of the coursework or assignment is to assist student to apply the knowledge from the subject (MGT 6233 Managing in the International Economy). It is an opportunity for the student to use the key concepts of managing international economy to a real challenging world.
Based on the list of companies provided (refer to Appendix C) that operating in Malaysia, you need to select one company. The selected company will serve as your case study and references to answer all questions in Part A and Part B. Write as if you are a researcher or journalist detailing factual information.
Question 1
The company introduction: Students are suggested to write this scenario in no more than 1,000 words. This will provide context to the following tasks from Part A (Question 2 and 3), and Part B (Question 1 and 2).
a) Describe the company from what industry in the Malaysia market?
b) The products and services provided that the company offer in the Malaysia market.
c) How it is structured, the mission, and key challenges it is, or is expected to face in the near future (next 1 to 2 years)?
d) Describe the role of management in this company structure in the Malaysia market. You may also include diagrams.
Question 2
The analysis: Next, write a concise situational appraisal of your selected company in the Malaysia based on the following factors:
a) The political, legal, economic or technological environment that influences the functioning of the company; and
b) The Trompenaars’s cultural dimensions that guides decision-making from marketing department, and influences how the company operates in managing their customers’ expectation.
Question 3
The gaps: Reflect on your situational appraisal of another country (not Malaysia country) that the company presently operating or you may suggest the company going to operate based on the following factors:
a) Four approaches (economic imperative, political imperative, quality imperative, and administrative coordination) that directs how the company intends to advance in the future; and
b) The Trompenaars’s cultural dimensions that guides decision-making from marketing department, and influences how the company operates in managing their customers expectation. (Up to 2,000 words*)

The issues: What are the problems and / or opportunities between the analysis from Part A (Question 2) and the gaps from Part A (Question 3) based on the following factors:
a) Now specify the management related problems and / or opportunities that company is likely to face; and
b) How will these impede the company to survive and flourish in another country (using the same country that you have selected in Part A - Question 3)? Support your answers with relevant facts and logic explanations.

The solution: What are the best entry strategy that you will suggest to assist the company to survive and flourish in another country (using the same country that you have selected in Part
A - Question 3)? Consider here:
a) What are the entry strategies available for the company to solve their present problems, and/ or strengthen its opportunities that company is likely face?
b) How are the human resources practitioners can assist the company to survive and flourish in another country?
c) What ethical considerations will the human resources practitioners can advise the top management to achieve a good company image in another country? (Up to 2,000 words*)
