Verbal Assessment on Enquiry Process

Purpose

Purpose The purpose of this verbal assessment is to present how your enquiry process contributes to your own construction of knowledge. Instructions Record a 5-minute (+/- 30 sec) video presentation. For this assessment, you will need to: Map your enquiry process.

(LO1) 1)Explain what influenced your choice of topic/question. What did you know about this topic before you started this formal enquiry process?

2)Explain how you found your sources of information. Find one source of information that addresses the chosen enquiry question, accessing a wider social source (such as newspaper, magazine, television, radio, social media post, blog, website). Find one peer-reviewed journal article that addresses the chosen enquiry question. Evaluate each of these sources of information using the Rauru Whakarare Evaluation Framework (Links to an external site.).

(LO2) 1)During your evaluation, include comparisons of the two sources using the five quality indicators in the Rauru Whakarare Evaluation Framework.

2)When referring to information sources, acknowledge each source using the APA7th format. Refer to the AUT library guide for APA7th (Links to an external site.). (LO4) Reflect on your enquiry process using the Borton's (1970) reflective model.

(LO3) 1)What? Identify one significant experience from your enquiry process that you can reflect on. Refer to tutorial for examples.

2)So what? Explain the importance of this learning experience for you.

3)Now what? How will this learning guide future steps in your ongoing enquiry process, such as for your Written Assessment. Ensure that you communicate clearly- can be clearly heard, appropriate language used, and that you demonstrate appropriate facial expression and body language.
