Your analysis will focus on your selected organisation’s operations strategy and how it delivers this through its operational design, and resource planning. Students should address the following questions in their reports: 1. On what basis does the operations function complete? For example, cost or quality? 2. What are the organisation’s operational capabilities? That is, what does the operation function need to be good at to achieve its competitive priorities? 3. How are the operational processes designed and resourced to deliver these capabilities? Each question will be given equal weighting for assessment. Your analysis will be primarily based on information in one Megafactories episode. You may also draw on information from the organisation’s website, newspaper coverage and industry reports. This assessment relates to the material covered primarily in the operations management lectures. Your submitted report will demonstrate your understanding and application of this material to the organisation of your choice.
