Task: To tackle, create, or design solutions dealing with a contemporary social or work issue covered in the paper. Your project is to tackle a social or work problem and try to resolve or find solutions using technology, innovation, or recommendations. In this assessment, you develop a programme, solution, or usable output dealing with a critical issue covered in the paper (issues raised from any topic in this paper- talk to your stream lecturer if you are not sure). You are encouraged to think about innovative ways to deal with the social or work issue and to use available technology. Some suggested team recommendations include: an interactive website (including content and plans), a training or development programme, a mobile app, or a game. Topics for this project must be selected from the following list: - • Information in the future of work • Workplace and professional issues • Challenging the traditional workplace • Personal development and ethics You are encouraged to specify or narrow down what problem or issue you will be tackling in your project. For this, you will need to do some research into the issue/problem you are dealing with (which you will discuss in your project). An aspect of the topic could also be considered, for example, the problem of deepfakes on Youtube, helping children learn civility on the internet, combating loneliness through the internet, or exploitation of low-skilled workers. Please discuss this with your lecturer. The expected output of the project topic should include: • Problem definition (including demonstrating your research around that topic/issue) • Brainstorming of ideas or solutions or alternative approaches to the problem/issue (including your research around possible solutions/approaches) You are reminded that although a practical exercise, problem definitions and solutions should be evidence-based i.e., supported by research or theory (e.g, research articles, credible sources of information such as books, or reports). It is expected that at least 8 sources are used and referenced. These sources can be a mixture of academic journals and reliable online sources. The purpose is to find a range of information to inform the project. You may supplement your project with visuals, videos, websites, plans, or examples (in the appendices).
