Child and Adolescent Psychological Challenges: Understanding, Reviewing, and Managing Interventions

LEARNING OUTCOMES: 1. Demonstrate knowledge of child and adolescent psychological challenges. 2. Critically review the aetiological perspectives of child and adolescent psychological challenges. 3. Critically evaluate interventions for psychological challenges in childhood and adolescence. 4. Identify the role of socio-cultural factors in the management of child and adolescent psychological challenges. 5. Present work at the appropriate academic standard. You will be provided with a choice of case studies (check under the ‘Assessments’ tab on AUTOnline). Choose ONE of these case studies and use this as a basis for your work. Clearly indicate the number of the case study you have chosen. In your case study, which should have an introduction and a conclusion, you need to ensure that you address each learning outcome as outlined below. Structure the case study according to: a) Assessment and diagnosis of the issue b) Possible causes of the condition, including a biological explanation c) Best-practice intervention options d) Socio-cultural considerations with respect to a-c above.
