a. Over the years, New Zealand has attracted a large volume of skilled and unskilled migrants from various countries.
b. Recently there has been increasing concerns from employers and employees alike on issues relating to cross-cultural management, in reference particularly to workforce diversity and behaviour (particularly workplace abuse and exploitation).
c. In light of this matter, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) and Immigration New Zealand have asked for submissions from the migrant community on how workplace behaviour, diversity and workplace communication can be improved to help address issues of migrant employment abuse and exploitation.
d. You are required to research migrant workplace abuse and exploitation both in a broader context and (to a lesser degree) in the context of your personal culture and write a report for the government where you: (2800 words).
e. Critically analyse the determinants of workplace behaviour (workplace abuse and exploitation) in an NZ context- critically analysing why migrant workplace abuse and exploitation happen
f. Evaluate how organizational effectiveness in NZ is influenced by diversity of the internal and external environment- evaluating how diversity (in both the internal and external environment) can be used to effectively limit (or eliminate) migrant workplace abuse and exploitation
g. Critically analyse the processes associated with effective communication, motivation, and managing people through collaboration and conflict in a NZ organizational context- explore and critically analyse the communication, motivation and people management issues that lead to migrant workplace abuse and exploitation
h. Evaluate and discuss issues relevant to the study of NZ organisational design, culture and change- evaluate and discuss your findings from Parts 1-3, identify the key issues you have found, and make recommendations for organisational and cultural/system change to address and hopefully eliminate migrant workplace abuse and exploitation.
