This is an individual essay in which you will critique the research process in the context of health care practice. It is important to be fully aware of how research is structured and interpreted to apply to your own academic reading and research projects.
Your essay must follow the usual essay writing format (beginning, middle and end) and must focus on the following;
1. Analysis
There are at least 9 steps in the research process.
· Identify these steps (and any others that you think may be relevant)
· Analyse the purpose of each step of the research process
· Support the analysis with examples for each?
2. Critique (15 marks each for A and B and a total of approximately 850 words)
A. Ethical aspects in the research process are often controversial and unethical behaviour is taken very seriously by all stakeholders.
· Critique two or more significant historical cases that have changed the course of ethical practice in research (preferably from New Zealand/Aotearoa)
· Critique two or more present ethical issues
· Identify and critique two or more potential ethical implications of the future e.g. bio engineering, genetic modification

· How can legal issues be avoided?
· Support your answers with examples from reliable academic sources
