The advantages of how BIM can boost productivity in the construction industry can be estimated with program understanding and how it operates (Hjelseth 2017). The research to include investigations; to determine the possibility of implementing BIM into their daily operations; to explore the impacts of adopting BIM on daily projects operations and its consequential outcome on productivity and sustainability of the enterprise. Modelling could be beneficial to construction and design firms through; 3D presentations of projects and designs; easier understanding, interpretation and implementation of project designs (Bouazza, Udeaja, & Greenwood 2015); increased productivity, efficiency and planning of works and monitoring as all aspects of the designs can be greatly understood and individual components in the designed identified for analysis and design (Khosrowshahi 2017).

Design and construction firms will be identified at different levels of growth ranging from small firms to well established firms.
