As part of the formal assessment for the programme you are required to submit aManaging Human Resources assignment. Please refer to your Student Handbook for full details of the programme assessment scheme and general information on preparing and submitting assignments.
After completing the module you should be able to:
Using examples from a minimum of two actual organisations, critically evaluate the impact of contemporary HR practices on employee retention. These practices may include areas such as rewards management, talent management, employee engagement, training and development and performance management.
In this answer it is recommended you apply relevant theory and discuss how the HR practices above support organisational development. Please use specific examples from your selected organisations. You should also discuss appropriate issues related to the organisation and analyse to what extent HRM has provided solutions to these issues. It is important to be critical in this answer and to embed your response with credible academic literature.
Reflect on your learning from the Managing Human Resources module. In what way do you think technology will have an impact on the role of HR professionals?
In order to assist with your learning on HRM and to give you some early feedback you are encouraged to engage with your tutor to receive formative feedback. The formative feedback for this module assessment is available on the module page. The feedback is designed to help you develop areas of your work and it helps you develop your skills as an independent learner.
If you do decide to complete the formative work, in order to receive feedback, submit to the module tutor two weeks before the final submission.
Formative feedback will not be given to work submitted after the above date. The tutor’s email address can be found on the module front page on iLearn and you will receive feedback within seven days.
You MUST underpin your analysis and evaluation of the key issues with appropriate and wide ranging academic research and ensure this is referenced using the AU Harvard system.
The My Study Skills Area on iLearn contains useful resources relating to referencing. You must use the AU Harvard Referencing method in your assignment. Additional notes:
Students are required to indicate the exact word count on the title page of the assessment.
The word count excludes the title page, tables, figures, diagrams, footnotes, reference list and appendices. Where assessment questions have been reprintedfrom the assessment brief these will also be excluded from the word count. ALL other printed words ARE included in the word count the homepage of this module for more information
