Producing Recruitment and Selection Materials for Office Manager Position at INUB

Assignment Brief

Produce Appropriate recruitment and selection materials

Assignment brief:

In your role as HR manager at INUB, you have been asked to recruit a new Office manager to work at the organisation. To start the process, you have been asked to produce a portfolio of documentation, which must include the following documents (see below). It is important that the documents reflect the requirements relevant to the post and are suitably branded.

The documents required.

·A job description and person specification for the Office Manager

·A job advert to help you in recruiting the Office Manager

·A three month staff development plan for the new starter

In addition to the portfolio you are also required to provide a clear and detailed rationale (1500 words) for all the choices that you have made in the design of the above materials. These should be clearly based on reference to the academic literature. This document should be attached to your portfolio as an appendix.

Specific Assessment Criteria

First class: All materials in this portfolio will be to a high standard. Each document will be clearly designed with apparent consideration of all elements. It will demonstrate a clear ability to produce excellent HR materials that are relevant and appropriate for particular scenarios. It will also provide a clear and detailed rationale for all choices made throughout the development of each of the documents provided. This will include a thorough consideration of external factors influencing HR practice and therefore impacting upon the design of all materials. Referencing and research will be excellent and used effectively throughout to support your arguments.

Second class: All materials in the portfolio will be to a good standard. Each document will be clearly designed with apparent consideration of the different elements. It will demonstrate an ability to produce useful HR materials that are relevant and appropriate for particular scenarios. It will also provide a clear rationale for the choices made throughout the development of each of the documents provided. This will include a consideration of external factors influencing HR practice and therefore impacting upon the design of all materials. Referencing and research will be good.

Third class:  Materials in the portfolio will be to a satisfactory standard. Each document will be designed with apparent consideration of the different elements. It will demonstrate an ability to produce HR materials that are appropriate for particular scenarios. It will also provide a rationale for the choices made throughout the development of the documents provided. This will include a consideration of external factors influencing HR practice and therefore impacting upon the design of all materials. Referencing and research will be evident.

Fail: Students who do not meet the requirements of a third class grade will not successfully complete the assessment activity.

Additional Submission Instructions:

As well as submitting a hard copy of your work as instructed in Section 9 of the module guide, you are also required to submit a soft copy via “Turn-it-in UK” on the module Moodle page.  The software will allow you to check your work against other material on the internet. It will also compare your work against other students work.

You will be able to upload drafts of your written work into turn-it-in as many times as you wish before the deadline.

You will not be able to overwrite the final submission after the deadline. You can only submit a single file.
