You are to create a presentation covering the following two sections, using an appropriate software package (PowerPoint / Prezi etc), drawing upon assignment guidance given during the module delivery and formative sessions. Section 1 (This part should make up approximately half of your presentation) You are required to research digital challenges relating to the placement job and / or industry you will have researched as part of your PPD module and present your findings covering the following topics:
Compulsory Topic
Digital Transformation – review and discuss how digital technologies has changed the way this organisation / industry operates, using relevant theory, academic references, and examples to back up your findings.
Elective Topics
You should also choose one additional digital topic covered within the module content, that is relevant for your organisation. You need to review and discuss this area in-depth and outline how this is, or could be, used for organisation development.
Some example digital areas that you could consider are below, but you can choose any area if it is relevant to your organisation:
Guidance
Your presentation might, for example, explore how the adoption of cloud computing technologies has been a digital transformation in your organisation but also raised IT / data security challenges.
You are to gather your own data and drawing on feedback gained from the formative task, you are required in this part to analyse this data using Power BI and present a brief summary of your findings, including any issues that you have discovered. This part makes up the second half of the presentation. As a guide it is expected that you will provide interactive graphs and give a commentary of what the data is telling you. You will then make recommendations basedon your findings to support business decisions. When making recommendations, consideration should be given to any of the topics covered within the module.
Presentation guidance
Your video presentation must be produced using Panopto (See the Assessment tab on our SOL page for guidance). No other submission methods will be accepted If you make a mistake while recording, then it is acceptable to correct yourself and continue without having to re-record the whole presentation! Alternatively, you may wish to record the presentation in sections, pausing it at the end of each section to take a break and collect your thoughts.
Learning Outcomes
This assessment will enable students to demonstrate in full or in part th e learning outcomes identified in the module descriptors.
Students are reminded that:
Extenuating Circumstances
The University’s Extenuating Circumstances procedure is in place if there are genuine circumstances that may prevent a student submitting an assessment. If students are not 'fit to study’, they can either request an extension to the submission deadline of 5 working days or they can request to submit the assessment at the next opportunity (Defer). In both instances students must submit an EC application with relevant evidence. If accepted by the EC Panel there will be no academic penalty for late submission or non -submission dependent on what is requested. Students are reminded that EC covers only short term issues (20 working days) and that if they experience longer term matters that impact on learning then they must contact the Student Hub for advice.
Academic Misconduct
Any submission must be students’ own work and, where facts or ideas have been used from other sources, these sources must be appropriately referenced. The University’s Academic Handbook includes the definitions of all practices that will be deemed to constitute academic misconduct. Students should check this link before submitting their work.
