The world of law enforcement officers (LEOs) comes with many unique challenges. The level of stress that LEOs and their families feel because of their job is significant. Large amounts of strain can affect their personal lives and relationships. Research has been done on LEOs stress levels and how that can be managed; however, there is not much research of the effects of stress levels in the home and divorce rates among LEO families. This research will consider if there is a correlation between the stress levels that officers experience at work and the divorce rates of LEOs. A quantitative research methodology in which both officers and officers’ spouses will be questioned will be used for this research.
