This is an individual case assignment. Please upload your files as this is an individual assignment,
Consider Wells Fargo in the context described in the case. No need to consider what actually happened in the Banking sector since the date of the case.
1 a. Review the 11 strategic initiatives in the case and score each initiative along the criteria described and develop a scoring matrix. Review all the projects listed in Exhibit 8 and use the scoring matrix described in Exhibit 5, while keeping the strategic objectives in mind. Note that the scores you get for each criteria should be used directly and not weighted again (ie the total score for each project should have a range of 200-1000). Please read the case thoroughly before you begin the analysis.
b. Which initiatives would you recommend and why?
Submit the scoring matrix and your explanation (in an Excel file).
1. Exhibit 5 is on page 12 of the WF case study. That is the scoring matrix you need to use.
2. You can create your own spreadsheet based on Exhibit 5. That will be what you submit.
3. Remember two things: The scores in the matrix are already weighted. So no need to again weight them per % on page 5. Also, when using the cost formula, remember that the parentheses/multiplication is before the subtraction.
2.a Create a Project Portfolio Worksheet. Please use the attached worksheet and use your scoring matrix data to place the eleven projects into the portfolio. For this, calculate the "risk" and "return" scores for each project as shown in the worksheet, and plot the project as a point on the grid, and mark it as P1 for project 1 (and so on for the 11 projects). You can either use Word/Excel....or simply print the template below and complete by hand, and scan in your answer to submit.
b. How does the portfolio compares with your recommendations in Question 1. Submit a brief explanation (200 words max)
Risk score = sum of scores for (cost, elapsed time, interdependency, risk)
Return score = sum of scores for (strategic impact, NPV)
2.Nightingale A & B (two MS Project files, case in textbook)
Please submit two Microsoft Project files...Nightingale A and Nightingale B. Any notes and comments should be included on specific activities in those files as notes. Notes are required for the following:
In Nightingale B:
Comment on activities that you reduced at a specific cost.
Comment of activities where the finish-to-start (FS) was changed or if a lag was added or both.
Any comments on the final Nightingale B plan (add comment to the last task)
No need to answer the text book questions for this case. Just the two plans with above comments.
3 Conveyor (one MS Project file, case in textbook)
Complete the entire case…no need to answer any questions…then please submit final file after Part 6 is completed via Canvas as the "Conveyor Case Final File".
4 Zuma(6 MS Project files, case in textbook)
Red Zuma Case (pages 644-649 in course textbook)
This case is similar to the Conveyor Belt case. However, you are required to submit multiple (six) MSP files that show your case analysis at various stages. Please see the assignment instructions below and follow it. You only need to answer the questions in the assignment sheet given below (not all the questions in the text book) for this case.
Please note that all answers must be posted as "notes" to either the first or last task within the corresponding project file. There is no need to submit an additional report or memo document.
