"Our personality is strongly correlated with our professional life and achievement. Thus, it is important to know our strengths, core values and weaknesses. Rath (2007) stated that we cannot be anything we want to be, but we can be lot more of what we already are. The following are my results of the assessment of the Clifton StrengthsFinder: Relator, Focus, Learner, Achiever and Futuristic. From the description of the result, Relator are especially talented and people with this strength enjoy close relationships with others.
They find deep satisfaction in working hard with friends to achieve a goal. For the Focus theme, people who are especially talented in this theme can take a direction, follow through, and make the corrections necessary to stay on track. Regarding the Learner theme, the people have a great desire to learn and want to continuously improve. In particular, the process of learning, rather than the outcome, excites them. As for the Achiever, they have a great deal of stamina and work hard. They take great satisfaction from being busy and productive. The Futuristic people are inspired by the future and what could be. They inspire others with their visions of the future.
I see my personally through these five top results of the Strenghts Finder. Two Core Values: Core values are aspects of life that are important. Nistor and Malutan (2017) stated that each person has a set of values that determine the actions, decisions, and relationships within the organization or in relation to other people. Riley (2021) added that having the right core values can improve your decision-making, your productivity, your achievements and perhaps most importantly, your ability to love and be loved. My core values are peace and health. These core values sound like “a new year wishes” but are important values that can lead me to any other values. Riley (2021) claimed that health is the precursor to every other core value on this list. However, peace enables clear decision-making, freedom in thoughts and actions as well as providing a deep understanding of life. Two Strengths Communication and WOO are the two other strengths that I would like to develop.
I admire people who have eloquence. According to Rath (2007) communication unable people to describe, explain, to host to speak in public and to write. As a nurse, I see the importance of adequate communication. Communication is central for developing and providing cares to our patients. The next strength, WOO, stands for winning others over. People with this type of strength enjoy the challenge of meeting new people and getting people to like them. This type of people is not intimidated by strangers. Having WOO strength would allow me to develop networking, which is important in many professional, and personal achievements. Two Characteristics The ability to know self weaknesses allow us to improve these areas of weakness.
With the above five strengths resulting from the Strengths Finder assessment, I realize my weakness beneath these strengths. Impatience and self-doubt are the two characteristics that I need to improve. Having a Learner and Focus themes as strengths, I sometime doubt my knowledge and this doubt leads to constant and endless learning and impatient to get thing done."
