IEM100 Introduction to Integrated Emergency Management

Describe the application of the UAE National Response Framework (NRF) as a platform for dealing with future risks.

Summarize key principles of IEM including Preparedness, Communications and Information Management, Resource Management, Command and Management, Ongoing Management and Maintenance.

By attending the class lectures on IEM100: Introduction to Integrated Emergency Management, students are exposed to the basic understanding and concepts of IEM including the UAE International National Response Framework. The assignment is aimed at students to:

• Describe the application of the UAE National Response Framework.

• Summarize the roles and responsibilities of UAE NCEMA based on IEM principles.

Develop and present a 5 - 10 minutes PowerPoint slides (recorded as video) on UAE policy and framework on integrated emergency management. The following instruction should be followed:

1. Identify disaster which can happen in UAE

2. Describe the importance of managing emergency

3. Identify UAE policy and framework on Integrated Emergency Management which include:

1. Policy and frameworks used `
2. Agencies involved
3. Activation of emergency or disaster

4. Use NCEMA document and UAE National Response Framework as your primary sources of information
