1.Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and critical appraisal of the theory, concepts, and principles across the area of Lifespan Development.
2.Demonstrate a critical evaluation of the different research methods within Lifespan Development with an ability to create argued conclusions.
3.Can autonomously apply key studies and findings from the area of Lifespan Development to psychological phenomena and functioning at a professional or equivalent level.
4.Design, plan, actualise and communicate the intellectual product and reflect on the independent learning experience.
For your assessment we would like you to design an intellectual product relating to lifespan developmental psychology. This could be a toy, app, website, psychological test, research tool, an intervention programme, an on-line survey etc. We want you to link it to theory and research and present your work as a poster with a recorded presentation.
Why this assessment?
At academic conference there are two types of presentation that you can take part in – an oral paper (traditional presentation) or an interactive poster where you produce a poster and stand by it and people will come and talk to you about it. Typically people will ask you to talk them through your work and this is what we want you to essentially do via the recorded presentation (6-8 minutes).
How do you present your work?
In your summative assessment, you are required to create a poster and a presentation about the development of your product (on the process of the product development linking it to Lifespan Development theory and practice and relating to the different areas covered in the module). To create the poster we have produced a template that you can use as a guide (we are really happy to see creativity in your poster design). We would also like you to record a short presentation (6-8 minutes) talking us through your poster and your product.
