Assessment in B100: Tutor-Marked Assignments (TMAs) and End-of-Module Assessment
Answered

Assessment in B100 comprises five tutor-marked assignments (TMAs) and an end-of-module assessment (EMA). In order to pass B100, you need to achieve at least 40% overall for the continuous assessment, i.e. a weighted average of all TMAs, and at least 40% for the EMA. Continuous assessment and the EMA each count for 50% of the marks on B100. The instructions for all TMAs are included in this assignment booklet. Instructions for the EMA will be provided in a separate document nearer the submission deadline for the EMA. TMA 01 counts for 10% of the continous assessment. TMA 02, TMA 03 and TMA 04 each count for 20% of the continuous assessment. TMA 05 counts for 30% of the continuous assessment. The feedback on the TMAs that you receive from your tutor is intended to improve your performance on the EMA. Information about submitting, the determination of results, resits, resubmissions and other matters that may affect your studies is given in the Assessment Handbook, which will be available to you from the start of your studies (it can also be accessed via StudentHome). The TMAs and the EMA serve several purposes; they: . allow the University to determine whether you have engaged fully with the module and its content . encourage you to make contact with your tutor so that you can discuss what you have included in them; your tutor will find this useful in providing guidance on your future study . allow your tutor to comment on the quality of your written work and the way in which you have presented the material . provide an opportunity for you to focus your study and gather information about various important concepts and teaching points in different parts of the module. Remember to participate in all tutor group forum (TGF) discussions throughout your time studying B100. For all your TMAs, you are assessed by your tutor for your contribution to TGF discussions. If you fail to actively participate in your TGF, you will lose a proportion of the marks for your TMAs. If you have any questions or difficulties with any of the assessments on B100, ask your tutor for advice

Answer

Through this assignment, we would be doing an in depth analysis of the case study of a printing company named Reliable Printing Ltd. Basically, we would be dealing with the financial reports for the period that is ending on 30th June 2015. I would be dealing this assignment as a senior auditor with the Rogers & Brown who have recently taken up the auditing from Jones & Associates. Reliable Printing Limited or RPL deals in a variety of products and they print magazines, books etc on print on demand basis. They also have extended their business to maximize their earnings by  having publisher’s titles available as searchable ‘e-books’ that could be downloaded directly by readers from RPL’s web site. Now being the auditor there are few questions that need to be answered which are related to financial reports auditing. This will provide us with a real life insight into auditing and financial reporting.
