His final semesters were just three months away. I chose to wake up late as the previous day was really hectic for me. I had completed my post graduation and was looking for a job. I had gone for an interview where I did not perform according to my expectations. My mother informed me that my uncle would be visiting us with his family. After reaching our home, uncle told us to get ready as he was planning to visit the nearby picnic spot. The picnic spot ‘Riverside’ was just half an hour away from our house. It was popular among all as it was located just besides the city river with a number of fun filled rides in it.
Within an hour, we reached Riverside. Though it was crowded, we still managed to find a place of our own. While our parents stayed back to make preparations for the barbeque, we went for a boat ride. A boat ride within the lap of nature is always refreshing. Pleasant beauty along the shores complemented our joy and exhilaration.
When we came back, we found that our parents were ready with the lunch. I always prefer homemade food as my mom cooks excellent dishes. We all are fond of her culinary skills. It is always wonderful to have lunch together with the family. The sumptuous treat was followed by ice cream which we bought from the local parlor. My dad and uncle started to share their naughty experiences in school as well as some light moments at workplaces. It was one of the very few occasions where we found our parents so amicable. We really spoke our heart out that day.
Just then I received a call. It was the HR manager from the office where I was interviewed the previous day. She informed that I was selected and I need to join the organization next week. My family was delighted to hear the news. It was an unbelievable news for me. I did not expect that I would be selected in this estimable organization. My parents, my uncle and aunt congratulated and blessed me for my success.
The day that began so ordinarily turned out to be the best day of my life. The day marked the beginning of my professional life. Till today, the moment when I had received the call remains the best moment of life. My feeling of that very moment cannot be expressed in words. The feeling was a concoction of joy, ecstasy and surprise as my heart stopped beating. I will remember the day and the moment till the end of the life which changed the course of my life. From a post graduate student, I became an aspiring professional.
