For this assessment, you are required to:

• Utilise an appropriate Report format. You may wish to utilise the template labelled “Reflective Report Template” available from the class Moodle site.

• Reflect on feedback from your workplace supervisor at your internship provider on how work-ready you are.

• Reflect on a career path.

Purpose

The purpose of the reflective portfolio is to provide a place and means for you to think critically about your work experience and yourself as an employee in some depth. This will be done in relation to yourself and your current work experience, but also in relation to the academic theory you were exposed to during your formal studies. The activities comprising the reflective journal have been designed to assist you in your soft skill development and to support the graduate profile of Graduate Diploma students.

This assessment involves the completion of two (2) activities. All activities are compulsory and must be completed using the appropriate written format. The following table contains a list of the activities. For details of the activities, see page 6.

Activity 1 - Reflect upon Employment Appraisal from Work Experience

Critically reflect upon the ranking you received for each dimension of your employment appraisal. This will involve discussing whether you agree or disagree with the ranking you received and reasons for why you agree or disagree based on your understanding of your personal strengths and weaknesses. You should also reflect upon your general strengths, areas for improvement and overall comments in terms of your future work readiness.

Activity 2 - Reflect on Future Career Direction

Critically reflect upon what you have learnt about your own strengths and weaknesses during your work experience and what type of work activities you have enjoyed or found unpleasant; discuss what type of work and roles you see yourself doing over the next two, five or ten years in order to create a clear career path. Discuss any further coaching, education, mentoring or training you believe you will need to be successful in these future roles.
