Part A: Describing your Ecological Footprint Analyse
Your personal impact on the environment by:
(a)Complete an Ecological Footprint calculator. Provide a screenshot of your results.
(b)Please provide a link to the website you used.
(c)Identify and discuss the results of your Ecological Footprint that were shown to be higher than average usage when you finished the calculation.
Part B: Critically Analyse your Ecological Footprint
Overview of the task:
Define a relevant sustainability theory and critically analyse your day to day activities discussing at least five (5) ways that you could reduce your Ecological Footprint. Please include the following in your answer:
Tasks:
1Briefly define a relevant sustainability theory that could be applied in this situation.
2Discuss how you would apply the sustainability theory to your own life.
You must include in your discussion:
(a)From your use of the calculators (in Part A) identify at least five (5) specific activities that you are currently doing that increase your ecological footprint.
(b)Explain what you could do to reduce your ecological footprint for each of the five activities listed in 2 (a) above. Your explanation should also provide an alternative to the activity that shows both an understanding of sustainability theory and is practical, achievable and affordable for you at the moment.
Remember to use correct APA referencing when referring to any theories or other secondary material.
Task Two:
Applying Sustainability to Professional Contexts
Overview of task:
Briefly describe a situation at your workplace in Aotearoa New Zealand which either demonstrates sustainability practices OR demonstrates a lack of sustainability practices.
Discuss which sustainability theory best describes the situation described.
Analyse how the workplace has operationalised or could operationlise sustainable practice in this situation.
Task – what to do:
1 Briefly describe a situation at your workplace which either demonstrates sustainability practices OR demonstrates a lack of sustainability practices.
Include in your answer:
(a)Description of sustainability (or lack of sustainability) practice–
Who was involved?
What happened?
(b)Feelings – What did you think and feel about it?
(c)Evaluation – What did you think was good and/or bad about the situation?
2 Discuss which sustainability theory could be applied to the situation. Briefly define the theory and discuss why it is relevant to your situation.
3 Apply what you have learnt about operationalising/applying sustainability in the workplace by analysing how the workplace above has made changes OR could make sustainable changes to the situation described.
Task Three:
Remember to use correct APA citations when referring to any theories or other secondary material. Your assignment should be edited for grammar and spelling and assignment numbering used. A reference page must be included using correct APA 6th ed. format.
