The research question which has been set for the purpose of the study can be identified to be as follows:

-What has been the impact of Facebook on Business Growth in terms of growing the customer base?

The new age of technology has brought about the different individuals closer to one another with the assistance of the social media platforms and related technology associated with the Internet. The social media platforms such as the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat have become considerately popular in the last few years. According to Alam and Khan (2019), the business enterprises started taking advantage of this and began to use the medium of social media to interact with the different customers and engage in understanding the key ways using which the enterprise can understand customers queries, complaints and related problems. This has not only allowed the enterprises to increase their popularity but at the same time grow their business in terms of revenue, profits and customer base (Cheng,   Fu  & de Vreede, 2017).

Hence, through the study, the author is focused on understanding how a firm’s presence on social media and related engagements such as customer interaction, problem solving, engagements and communication techniques have brought about a positive growth in the business in terms of improving the current customer base (DePaula,   Dincelli  & Harrison, 2018). The study has examined the case of 10 companies and examined their presence of social media with the assistance of which a better idea related to the firm’s presence on media and overall interactions can be gained. The ten enterprises which have been chosen to elaborate the association from the two study variables can be identified as Amazon, Avon, Lazada, Nike, Adidas, Lush cosmetics, Dressily, Walmart, Tesco PLC and Mc Donald’s.

These enterprises have a strong business following on social media and through their engagements and activities along with an extensive research of the annual reports, the research question has been answered. The reason why Facebook has been used is due to the fact that it is the most popular social media platform used by the different businesses and users (Lipschultz, 2017).

The study follows a comprehensive structure. Pertaining to this, the study is largely divided into five different chapters. The first chapter which is the Introduction, is focused on understanding the project title, research rationale and the research questions. This is followed by the research methodology chapter in association with which the key methods as adopted by the researcher have been critically examined. The third chapter is the Literature review whereby key theories surrounding business growth and social media as a business tool have been examined.

The discussion outlines the key analysis results and correlates them with related theories. Lastly, the findings follows a brief approach whereby a brief overview of the outcomes, limitations of the study and the future research has been discussed.
