You are to create a presentation which should be no more than ten (10) minutes in duration. You are to use Panopto to present your material. Please note, this is your presentation of this material which will be recorded in Panopto, it is not a live presentation. You are to produce a patient resource to inform them of the pre-operative anaesthetic assessment journey. You should include a range of pre-operative assessment checks, including basic respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological function assessments which the patient may expect to experience during the pre-anaesthetic assessment. You should provide a discussion explaining each assessment and justify its use in relation to anaesthesia. You should demonstrate robust knowledge but portray this information to someone who is not an expert in the field. **The pre-operative anaesthetic assessment journey pertains to the pre-operative anaesthetic assessment clinic, as opposed to day-of-surgery assessment. However, you are also expected to include some assessments which will be encountered immediately prior to anaesthesia – such as airway assessments** Assessment Brief: • You are to provide a minimum number of assessments: 3 respiratory assessments; 3 cardiovascular assessments; 2 neurological assessments (approximately one minute per assessment). For respiratory we can do Spirometry test and not sure about the other two. For cardiovascular we can exercise tolerant test and 2 others not sure. For neurological i was told these two only: GCS (Glasgow Coma Scale) and AVPU (Alert, Voice, Pain and Unresponsive) • You are to also provide a range of common pre-operative anaesthetic assessments which may occur immediately before administration of anaesthesia (Mallampati, Thyromental Distance, Fasting or anything else you can think of. You are required to present this as though it were to be given to a patient to assist them in understanding the pre-operative assessment process. • As a guide you should provision for approximately 1 min per assessment and to include an introduction of approximately 30 secs outlining the pre-operative anaesthetic assessment journey. • Being concise and articulate with your discussion and justification (see marking grid) is essential to ensure that all elements of the assessment are appropriately presented. How you demonstrate your knowledge within Panopto is your choice. You may choose different presentation formats for different topics. You may wish to upload video footage of yourself presenting on the above topics, PowerPoint presentation with a voiceover, creation of diagrams with a voiceover. The medium used must be recorded via Panopto. So, get creative with your presentation but remember you must include voice content of no more than 10 minutes duration. I was thinking if you can do the presentation in a power point and then write what to say for each slide. Either or you can add some things like diagram also.
