Task/Assignment
You are to write a Project Report on the investigation and solution of the managerial issue of suitable complexity having used business research methods and practical application of management concepts & tools and problem-solving models. This Project Report shall be based on the Project Proposal that you have submitted in the previous Study Block as Assessment 1. Details for the Project Report Structure shall be discussed in face-to-face interaction in the class and the application of the concepts and models shall be practiced in the class as group work. You should consider your client (the organization and contact person in it) as the audience for your project, along with your OPAIC facilitator(s)/coach(es). The purpose of the report is to convey a robust investigation and recommended plan of action for the client organization that solves the issue in a manner palatable to the organization to implement.
Structure of Project Report and Requirements
The report should be written to a professional business standard appropriate for a senior management audience and will include the following:
OP Assessment Coversheet (including project title, student and student ID number along with the name, title of lecturer and the date of submission)
Executive Summary (a brief summary of the key purpose of the project, an overview of its approach, its findings and the key recommendations)
Contents page (including the headings laid out here, page numbers for ease of lookup and correct pagination throughout the document)
Background (a short precis of the proposal including a brief recap of the goal of the project, the findings of the literature review, the approach being used, the expected project outputs and the likely benefits. Any modifications to the approach that have been necessitated as a result of the discovery phase of implementation should be described. It is good practice to refer to the original proposal in an appendix).
Literature Review
The topics you are required to cover in your literature review are:
Linking the managerial issue from the proposal and clarifying ideas for a research framework
Introduce and define each stage of the critical research process including ethical considerations
Applied tools used in the project, specifically, the characteristics of Data Collection:
Quantitative and Qualitative Research, Mixed Methods and Data Analysis
Results and Analysis (Following the implementation of the proposal the results from data collection and application of research tools and models that has been used to investigate the problem and develop solutions should be shown. Raw data (eg. survey results, interview notes, etc.) using MS Excel should be shown in appendices and what appears here in the body of the report should be relevant analyses and insights.
