Task:
In this course, students are provided with an overview of the variety of topics and subjects that fit within the field of organization design. For this assignment, students are given the opportunity to choose, research, and write about a topic of personal and professional interest that fits within the larger heading of Organization Design at a much deeper level. Students are also asked to use their critical and creative thinking skills in applying their new found knowledge to the business environment/global business environment in general and to an actual situation that currently affects/has affected their place of business.

When planning and working on this paper your primary goals should be:
(1)that your paper is very well researched (primarily using and incorporating scholarly sources into your paper); This paper is primarily a research paper. You must conduct scholarly research on the topic you choose. So, even if you choose a topic that you are familiar with and that you use daily in your organization (for example lean manufacturing) you must conduct outside research on your topic. What would be considered scholarly sources? Books and/or book chapters on your topic are fine as are peer-reviewed journal articles.
(2) that your work is well organized and well written (grammatical errors are very rare, there is a good flow to your paper and it’s easy to follow and understand);
(3) that it makes use of critical thinking skills - especially in terms of how you would apply the concepts/ideas from your research to real life situations/real organizations;
