This course focuses on the management of process and supply chain that are used to deliver the product (either a good or service) to the customer. This group term project requires that a process or supply chain be identified, flowcharted, and analyzed.
Analyze Nahdi Medical Company supply chain and then document, flowchart and Identify any issue or problems in the processes and propose alternatives and evaluate your alternative solutions.
-A detailed process flow chart including process inputs, process outputs, activities, activity times, processing and labor requirements. (figure 2 available in useful information section below)
-Capacity analysis of the process, including the strategies used to address expected customer demand. (Figure 7 available in useful information section below – forecasting)
-Suggested metrics used to measure the process or supply chains performance, and how a changed process may improve them. (Figure 6 in useful information section below – KPIs)
-Address other relevant issues as appropriate, such as: (address 3 issues minimum)
1. Customer demand and process capacity relationships
2. How production is planned, from customer demand to production schedules
3. Quality Management issues
4. Product delivery issues
5. Collaboration and coordination issues
6. The interfaces of the process with both the external and internal customers
7. Waiting line issues and related staffing decisions
8. Other applicable process or supply chain management issues or concerns.

-Assignment is aimed to analyze supply chain of Nahdi Medical Company (pharmacies) with focus on logistics management, distribution and warehouse inventory management. In addition, you must find issues in the processes and suggest solutions or alternatives and analyze the applicability and impact of each solution.
-We have visited the company main Distribution Center in Jeddah, below information is compiled from the visit and would be useful for the report.
-the warehouse is all manual and depend on barcodes manual scanning to connect all inventory and inventory movement in and out of the warehouse to the system. Employees have to pick up material/medicine from different shelves manually and combine the full order in a box and send it to the next station. You should suggest a solution that would reduce number of employees and order preparing time like automation and semi automation. (Figure 15)
-There is an extra step that should be removed. They move ready to ship pallets from the main warehouse to another warehouse called shipping warehouse. This process happens internally due to Distribution Center layout and main warehouse capacity. (see figure 16 and 17)
-You can assume any issue or problem in any process of this supply chain and propose alternative solutions and analyze the impact of each solution if applied.
-There are +950 employee in Supply Chain department.
-There are 4 Distribution Centers in Saudi Arabia. (two in Jeddah – 1 Riyadh – 1 Abha)
