At the same time formative preparation for Final Paper. Â Write a concise academic paper on an assessment challenge that requires informed scholarship to address. The paper should be in the range of 1600-2,000 words, excluding references. Footnotes will be considered as part of the word count. There should be at least 4 listed readings, and 2 unlisted readings, cited in your paper.Â
The paper should provide succinct clarity and informed scholarship on an assessment and learning challenge in your specific context, and relate to issues or content discoursed in this module. Its focus should be in identifying the underlying assumptions and issues of a presenting problem, and unpacking and discussing the ramifications and implications of the problem.Â
Challenge: The paper should identify and unpack a needful Assessment Change. This can involve identifying an existing problem, an unrealized potential, or underlying issues/fault lines that cannot be ignored. It can be ideological (e.g., the notion of meritocracy), conceptual (how can assessment/learning be explained to teachers), practical (how schools should understand and use assessment for learning), strategic (how can Aft. reform learning despite teacher ...) etc.Â
Content: The challenge should be relevant to any of the topics that are specifically addressed in the sessions (including the SDSs) in this module. Please consult the tutors if you wish to address a different topic.Â
Final Paper (40%) â Evaluative, and also formative for sustainable learning post course. The final paper is a complete academic paver that may be developed from your mid-course paper (it will not be taken as self-plagiarism). Or you can address something totally different. The final paper is basically an enhanced revision of your mid-course paper and should be in the range of 3600-4,000 words, excluding references. Footnotes will be considered as part of the word count. It is recommended to have 20-25 references, of which at least a quarter should be unlisted.Â
Notes: 1. For academic papers, please abide by APA convention. Listed readings refers to all references in the course outline. Subsequent readings provided in the course beyond the listed readings in the course outline are not considered listed readings.Â
2. For non-academic papers, please modify the citation and referencing convention to suit your genre.Â
3. Only the mid-course and final paper needs a Turnitin report. Upload the assignment cover page (duly signed) with your submission.Â
