S3649C Introduction to Sports Coaching

Between 1500 and 1800 words, critique the coaching session of your choice  

1.Identify and explain key coaching theories, concepts, framework etc. applied in the video.

2.Examine the application above and evaluate its effectiveness.

3.Provide time stamps (eg. @15:43) when you refer to the coach’s actions/ behaviour/ words as evidence.

4.You are expected to cite a minimum of 3 references from your module’s textbooks or academic journals. All referencing and bibliography are recommended to follow the American Psychology Association (APA) format. References from non-academic sources will not be accepted. Delete all the helping points in blue.

•Write a brief introduction of the lesson observed

•Include the profile of coach and participants/group

•Attach the hyperlink of your chosen video

 

•Critique the coaching session in the 3 areas below. 

1.Managing athletes (eg. leadership styles, preventive discipline, motivation theories, etc.) Lesson 07 (Leadership Styles, Preventive Discipline)

2.Lesson plan and delivery (eg. instructional strategies, stages of learning, feedback, etc.) Lesson 09( Instructional strategies) Lesson 10 ( Stages of Learning)

3.Biophysical and performance (eg. sport physiology, Long Term Athlete Development and Windows Of Trainability  , etc.) Lesson 15 (LTAD) Lesson 16 (sport physiology)
