Developing Sustainable Strategies - A Key CSR Challenge

Research

You need to start by doing your research.

1. Identify the CSR issues in the case.

2. Review the relevant literature.

3. Take a look at what companies are doing to develop and implement sustainable strategies

4. You can also look at stakeholder reports, such as the work of our industry partner, and media reports.

5. Then, answer the three questions, based on what you have learned from your research.

6. It’s important to clearly reference where your ideas came from.

Theories: You can use any of the theories we have used in the course to apply to this case study. Tell us which theories you have used, and reference them in your work.

References: This is an academic poster so you MUST use citations in your text. Please include a reference list at the bottom of your poster - this can be in small font if you wish. You MUST include at least 3 academic references per person in your group. The more references you use from beyond the course material the better.

Size: Your poster should be on an A1 size sheet. (if teaching virtually at the time of this assignment, you could create your Poster in PowerPoint and safe it as a PDF document tp be uploaded in Canvas)

Wordcount: We recommend you use (your reference list is not counted in this wordcount). You will find that fewer words often makes for a better, clearer poster. You can experiment with what works best. For example, you can use dot points, but you don’t want the poster to be entirely a list of dot points as this will make it hard for your audience to engage with the work, and won’t help you to make a coherent argument.

Poster layout: Look at the website listed on the Case Study description. You might create four A4 size sheets to fit on your A1 sheet, but you can do the poster in other ways too. (see aboeve information if we are still teaching virtually)

Poster materials: You need to print the poster, (except if we are teaching virtually at the time of this assignment). We are marking you on the content of your poster. You are NOT being marked on the beauty or presentation style of your poster as we do not want to advantage those groups that have the most resources to produce a professional poster. Nevertheless, your presentation style can contribute to getting your message across.

Identify yourselves on the poster: Please make sure that the names and student numbers of all your group members are included on the poster.

Video (if we are teaching virtually at the time of this assignment) : Due to the current circumstances, including moving to virtual teaching, groups won’t need to present face to face in class. Instead, groups would need to produce a video of no more than 5 minutes presenting the poster with answers to the tree questions in the case study. The video, and the poster (in pdf) have to be uploaded in Canvas by no late than Week 12: 28 September 2020 at 5:30 pm, Singapore time, as evaluation of this assessment will be next day (29 September) during the class time.

To this end,  and if students aren't able to meet to develop the video, below is an example of how students could develop the video (feel free to use other options):

· teams will decide what topic each student will talk about in the video (e.g., if the group includes four students, each student would address one question from the three, and the four student will make a conclusion; if  the group includes three students, each student would address one question from the three,  including a conclusion);

· each student would  develop an individual video of no more than 1.5 or 2 minutes;

· the team will select a student who will put all videos together, to create just one video

· the team leader will upload the video in Canvas;

· another team member will upload the poster in a pdf document;

· instructions about how to upload both documents are in: Canvas/Assessment Task 3/” Instructions about how to upload the video and the poster are in a guidance document that will be posted here”

Your videos and posters will be reviewed by your local Lecturer (Alina) and the industry partner on 29 September by Collaborate Ultra during the class time, that is why students need to upload the video and poster the day before (28th September).   Alina will send feedback  on your videos and posters to each group on 30 September) at 17:00 pm. This feedback will need to be taken into account when developing the individual tasks, to be submitted on Week 12, 2 October, 23:59 Singapore time in Canvas, Details of individual taks are in next section:

Individual Task: Individual summary –

1. What do you think the key problems are in this case?

2. Why do you think the recommendations you have made will be effective in solving these problems?

Why do you think the actions you have recommended have not yet been widely used and applied across the secto
