You are required to do report on ST Logistics is a Singapore-based company. Review the inventory management processes or systems that the selected company is using currently. You are to determine if there are any bottlenecks or potential issues in the current inventory processes or systems and put up a proposal with the aim to improve the company’s productivity and efficiency of inventory management. Application of the concepts / good practices that you have learnt from this module is strongly encouraged. Your report is suggested to cover, but not limited to, the following aspects:
- Background of the company
- Describe the types of inventory the company owns, manages or uses; together with the current inventory management processes or systems currently used by the company
- Identify and describe the bottlenecks or inventory related issues currently faced by the company (e.g. stock-outs, over-stocking, poor inventory accuracy, etc.
- • Describe the inventory KPIs used by the company to measure current inventory management performance (e.g. inventory turns, order fill rate, etc.)
- Propose inventory management methods (e.g. Vendor Managed Inventory, Kanban system, etc.) that can help to improve the KPIs
- Propose technologies and inventory systems (barcoding, RFID, etc.) that can be adopted by the company to improve the productivity
- Draw conclusions on your proposal expected to submit a report (in word doc) of at least 1500 words on the selected company. As a guideline, the report should be typed in a 12-point font, one-inch margins, and a minimum of 1.5 line spacing. Students should clearly state all citations and references used in the report. Students may also include pictures / diagrams / charts in your report.
