1. Briefly summarize the plot of the film in paragraphs.
2. Identify main character suffering from the disorder or disorders and name the disorder(s) according to the description in the text dealing with psychological disorders, and at least one other source. Provide examples from the film that illustrate the symptoms of the disorder(s).
3. Critique the film’s portrayal of the disorder: has the disorder been accurately or inaccurately portrayed based upon the text description and the additional source? Or is the portrayal a blending of accuracy and inaccuracy?
4. Explain whether or not the person suffering from the disorder successfully or unsuccessfully deals with the condition. If the person is successful, mention the method or methods he or she used.
As previously mentioned, you must refer to at least one outside source other than the text that deals with the disorder you discuss. The source or sources must be from a reputable source with an author listed, preferably from a book on psychology, or an article from a psychology website or psychological journal (no Wikipedia, about.com, yahoo.com, etc.).
You must provide the source references in order for the instructor to check the source. If you have doubts about the reputability of the sources, check with the instructor. Also, please refrain from plagiarizing the source material. Students who plagiarize will receive no credit for the assignment. If you are unsure about how to avoid plagiarism, ask the instructor for clarification. Finally, please keep in mind that this is a formal essay and should include a reference page, proper formatting and attention to grammar, punctuation, spelling, and sentence construction.
