Overview
This report will be assessed individually. The primary focus of this Issues Presentation is to demonstrate an understanding of how various MICE components could impact the success of an event and how it could contribution to MICE businesses.
 
Instructions
1. Individual assessment. This is an individual assessment. You are refer to the Request for proposal in Appendix 3 and work on the following tasks for a hybrid conference:
a) Identify an event theme/concept.
b) Apply the programming elements based on the theme/concept to curate the event programme.
c) Determine an appropriate venue.
d) Propose relevant industry and renowned speakers.
e) Prepare the project Gantt chart with all relevant tasks to stage the event.
f) Identify the event logistics with explanations.
 
2. Assessment Structure. This is based on a maximum score of 50 marks and constitutes 25% of the overall assessment for this subject. Details of the assessment structure are stipulated in the appendix.
 
3. Report Structure. The structure of this Report is as follows:
I) Written Report
The body (content) of the report should be no more than 2000 words (A4 paper size) using 1.5-line spacing, Arial font size 11. Cover page (as attached in Appendix 1)
Your Proposal will be assessed on the following:
• Editorial presentation & organisation (10 marks)
• Evidence & quality of research (20 marks)
• Overall content & learning quality (20 marks)
 
Editorial Presentation & Organisation
• Appropriate language used (grammar, vocabulary, punctuation).
• High communicative value and standard of appearance.
• Creative and interesting presentation of report.
• Appropriate use of charts, graphs, diagrams and images to support the content. /10
 
2. Analysis and Critical Thinking
• Demonstrate ability to apply theoretical foundations to event requirements.
• Display depth in analysis and critical thinking in the areas of justification of the venue; development of the ancillary programmes and content; /20
 
3. Exploration and Creativity ideas
• Display creativity and the relevant application of this creativity in proposing the theme/concept that have a high probability of success.
• Demonstrate creativity in combining elements of the destination offerings into the programme content.
• Demonstration of creativity in all areas that will enhance the delegate event experience and engagement.
