HLA444-Intro to Change Leadership in Healthcare
Introduction: define and summarize the meaning of change, leadership, and change leadership as derived from course materials from the entire semester (multiple paragraphs may be necessary) and include a thesis statement Body: Use the PIE method (purpose, idea or relevance, evidence) for paragraph structure Leadership Strengths: identify specific change leadership strengths you possess, aligning them to course materials and real-life examples. For example: I am proficient with the concept and implementation of revolutionary change (Burke, 2014, p. 76) as a leadership strength, as demonstrated by my involvement with the transition to XXXX. The transition to the XXXX systems has been widely recognized as “revolutionary” to XXXXX systems in its ability to universally store and share data. As an XXXX, I demonstrated my proficiency in embracing such revolutionary change by spending in excess of one year facilitating the transition… such a revolutionary change were extensive, costing XXXX dollars, but were none-the-less needed in order to keep up with the growth and patient service demands of the organization, being defining factors of revolutionary change vs evolutionary change. Leadership Development Opportunities: identify specific change leadership development opportunities (areas where you could improve). Develop a SMART goal for each opportunity and identify a specific, intentional leadership development tool (include these in your reference list) to assist you with this change through a future training, workshop, book to read, etc. This will require you to search for additional development opportunities that are available. For example: I find that at times I can be more task oriented than people oriented and am more concerned with completing a job than how people on the team my feel (Burke, 2014, p. 285). A goal to address this is to develop and implement a checklist that will remind me to seek others' opinions when working on group projects. I plan to implement this by the end of the 1st quarter 2022. To facilitate this change I will read the book The Feedback Fix by Joe Hirsch by February 15, 2022. Conclusion: summarize and forecast your future as a leader should you implement these development opportunities, read this about conclusions
