Behavioral Modification Plan – A Rewarding Project Purpose: To use the principles of operant conditioning to carry out a plan to change, manage, or improve your behavior. Over the next several weeks Steps to follow: 1. Choose a target behavior What behavior do you want to change? 2. Record a baseline How much time do you currently spend doing the activity? Or, identify the frequency of the desired (or undesired) behavior now. 3. Establish goals Identify realistic, measurable, achievable goals. Break them down by week if that will help you move towards a larger goal. 4. Choose reinforcers Will you provide positive or negative reinforcers? What will they be? How frequent? 5. Record your progress Keep accurate records of what happens – remember, you are a behavioral psychologist for the duration of this assignment! 6. Reward successes Enjoy your rewards (but only if you truly earn them!), and be consistent! 7. Adjust your plan as you learn about your behavior Did you need to modify your goals or reinforcers as time went on? It’s OK to modify the goal. People give up on plans that have unrealistic goals. 8. If you were going to continue the plan, what punishments (positive and negative) would you add? What is your new baseline? When and how would the punishments happen? 9. Write up a one-page summary and submit in Canvas, with a copy of your progress record,
