Creative Writing Research Paper for Sociology Class

Assignment Description

It is a very long assignment description so I have attached the file. This is more of a creative writing type of research paper, and yet it is a research paper. It is essential that the writer that accepts this assignment be a descriptive, creative writer, and that is great with telling a story.

An English teacher, or a novelist would be a great choice. I need you to fill in and create complete scenarios for me, please. This research paper is for my Sociology 282 Community Service class. Students will apply the knowledge gained from course readings to their experience in the field in a final 3000-word (10 pages @ 300 words) paper, excluding references.

The paper should include the following: a description of one’s service (including personal reflections); an analysis of the organization of the agency; an account of the perspectives of those involved; a discussion of the role of the service agency in the wider community; reference to course reading materials. Students are expected to cite their sources appropriately in the text of the paper, and in a reference section appended to the end of the paper. Use the ASA style guide.

On Wednesday of the following week I ride along with the two women that volunteered from the local Buy Nothing Group of Preston/UVA/Fifeville. We meet at the parking lot of the Boys and Girls Club and we go in one of their cars. You name the women, give them a car, etc etc. We did five pickups that day, one from a more poverty area, one from a wealthy area, and three from middle class areas. Every pick up just needs to be very brief, the neighborhood looked like this, I smelled this, saw this, the house with donations on the porch looked like this, more descriptive of bags or boxes and then move on to the next pick up. We didn’t look into the bags
until back at the woman's house to discard old, out of date cans and boxes, and we did get some. I need to make sure that this group is described as the local buy nothing group that is volunteering.

Women’s first names
Description of the women
What did it feel like being in the car with them
Describe the car / inside of the car
What did you smell / hear
Highlights of what they were talking about

if talking about the pantry project did they sound positive about it (and yes they did could you make some conversation around that).

The women went to four houses for pick ups of donations, brief descriptions of neighborhoods, colors, sounds, they were all modest middle class, some brick, some new build, some older.

How much / many boxes of bags of donations at each location. There was a nice amount at each a couple bags or a medium box just use your imagination and make things up. Description here is important.

We will then return to one of the women’s houses.. Whatever you name her.. Describe her kitchen where we go and where they sort through the items, are they able to use it all, what kinds of things are there. Can you give numbers of cans of beans, corn, soup, spaghetti, oatmeal, cereal, and how many peanut butter and jelly and tuna fish, and boxes of macaroni and cheese, rice, baby food. All the things that someone would donate to a food pantry but I need to know what type and how many.

Then the women and I need to take it to the pantry and fill the pantry. I need to describe the conversation of the two women in the car on the way to the pantry, the excitement about helping people, the excitement about how good the food drive was. Remember in all of this I am standing back observing and I am supposed to be filling in all the descriptions.

I help them get the heavy boxes to the pantry and the pantry is very bare when we arrive. I need descriptions of all of this and descriptions of them unloading, filling the pantry and conversation, how things feel, what I observe. The pantry is the size of a giant armoire and I will need to give it a size in the description as we are walking up to it with the heavy boxes.

Feeling of job well done, satisfaction these two ladies will be doing pick ups again monday in two weeks. We say goodbye there in the parking lot.
