Task:
Management groups include, Senior Management, Directors, Department Heads, Program Leads, and Chief of Services. Management is accountable for the following:
1. Leading by example by complying to the Code of Conduct at all times.
2. Requiring that each individual adhere to the Code of Conduct.
3. Create and Maintain an environment that encourages employees to collaborate with one another, cooperate together, and show a level of professionalism.
4. Encouraging an open communication with employees where fear of retaliation is omitted when issues are raised to management.
5. Documentation, investigation, implementing appropriate action, and seeking advice from experts when required. (Human Resources, Legal Office, Diversity Team, etc.)
Monmouth Medical Center will investigate all reports of Code violations. All individuals are responsible to oblige to and report violations or suspected violations of the Code of Conduct. This includes legal, unethical, and illegal conduct while on campus and off. Violation of this Code may result in disciplinary action, loss of privileges, or termination from Monmouth Medical Center.
Persons reporting violation of the Code of Conduct are covered under the Code to be safe from retaliation, discrimination, or punishment. Management have three available options in reporting and confronting violation of the Code of Conduct.
When faced with an uncomfortable situation or the behavior persists after confrontation in private, they may seek assistance from their supervisor, director, or fellow manager to
help prepare a report that documents the information of the violation. This report should include:
a. The date and time the action occurred
b. The name of all involved, including witnesses
c. Circumstances that caused the situation
d. Description in detail of the action in question
e. If any, consequences and actions that have already been implemented
f. Any information of the staff that is intervening Other staff that management may look to for support is Human Resources, Legal Affairs, Privacy Officer, Diversity team, and Human Rights experts to help conduct the investigation of violation in question.
Direct Communication
When you encounter a situation that is in violation of the Code of Conduct, you are required to advised to speak directly, professionally, respectively, and privately to the person. Advising that that person’s behavior is inappropriate or unwelcome is commended.
All individuals subject to this policy are able to anonymously. Reporting portal in the Monmouth Medical Center employee portal allows for confidential submission of incidents of suspected violation or unethical activities. To find the report, type in Code of Conduct Reporting on the Monmouth Medical Center intranet and this will bring you to the report. Name, email, phone number, or employee idea is secure and will not be reported to the advocate. When completed an automated response will be generated and emailed to you.
Monmouth Medical Center is committed in fostering a healthy and positive environment for all employees and patients. The person worth, dignity, and diversity of each member of the hospital is of the utmost importance. Every person subject to this policy has the right to work in a respectful environment that is free of discrimination and harassment as well as lodge complains without fear of reprisal.
Each employee and patient also has the responsibility to treat everyone in the hospital and community with the highest amount of respect, provide good quality of care and treatment, report any violation of this code, including harassment and discrimination. As well as, fully and truthfully cooperate with any investigation that is underway for violation of this policy.
