The Theory of Change Approach in Education: Valuing Ongoing Struggle Against Social Injustice
Answered

The Theory of Change Approach is Conflict Centered

What Is Your Operating Theory Of Change As Educators/Researchers/School Leaders?

How Does It Inform What You Choose To Do (Or Not Do) Politically, Socially, And As An Educator/Leader?

My operating theory of change as an educator is to come up with a conflict-centered perspective of change towards education so that they are better able to understand change. The theory of change framework is used by me as an educator as it focuses on the belief systems that helps in understanding how teaching as well as learning looks like and whose perspectives is viewed as important and how a community is also understood by others (Tuck 2009). With thehelp of theory of change framework, the power of formal education can be endeavored that aims at disturbing instead of reaffirming the patterns of violence and at the same time makes the students aware of why theory of change that is focused on desire-based research instead of suspend damaged-based research is considered to be important (Tuck 2009). Hence, this approach along with conflict-centered approach helps in supporting inquiry as a part of struggle instead of any kind of resolution.

The approach or operating theory of change helps in valuing incomplete understanding as well as uneven realization of goals. Similarly, the above approach of change as an educator helps in highlighting the importance of communication, compassion, sharing humanness as well as critical listening skills with students that helps in offering a broader perspective on the issues that is being faced by them and thereby helps in enacting effective as well as efficient change (Tuck 2009). Hence, as an educator coming up and following the conflict centered approach in education helps in distilling a kind of hope which also helps in challenging hopelessness that not only strives for order and reinstalls the dream of whiteness but at the same time focuses on an ongoing struggle (Tuck 2009). Hence, the above approach will me as an educator to make the students understand and realize the concept of ongoing struggle that they have to face against social injustice that is sometimes committed against them.

Hence, the approach or operating theory of change that has been selected helps me in realizing that damage should not solely be captured either politically, socially or as a leader. What instead should be focused as well as given importance is to understand as well as make others understand the complexity of situation, contradictions along with self-determination of lived lives (Tuck 2009). Hence, politically, socially as well as an educator it is the responsibility of every person in authority to not only serve as advertisements of power by documenting only events that are reflections of painful realities of social life but also to highlight the wisdom along with hope that comes with it that helps in making the lives of the individuals meaningful (Tuck 2009). Hence, politically, socially and as an educator it is my responsibility to make the people accept their state of being and at the same time encourage and motivate them to strive for a better life (Tuck 2009). Hence, being someone in authority I would like to create some mutual as well as beneficial roles for academic researchers along with other types of researchers that will help in highlighting not only the issues but will also create an atmosphere of acceptance and resolution.
