Different leadership style of Shawn and John:

In this case study, the leadership style followed by Shawn Williams, the new VP of global human capital management at Atlantis Global Corporation, can be characterised as Transactional leadership style. Shawn has decided to follow a new acknowledgement and prizes programs to enhance the job pleasure of the staff (Riaz & Haider, 2010).

The leadership method, followed by John Dawson, the chief executive officer of the company, can be considered as Strategic leadership. Transactional leadership:

Advantages:

Disadvantages:

· Predicting the future is difficult in this leadership style.

Own leadership style:

Transformational leadership style can be followed by me. As this leadership style shares the vision of the company with the employee to motivate them. This initiative by the leader will develop an ambience, where the employee will be excited to deliver their best effort for the benefit of the business organisation. The leader will be empathetic, self-aware, humble and authentic.

The HRM will train the manager to develop transformational leadership behaviour. The behaviour of the leader contributes to human capital creation through which the company can achieve its target. The transformational leader will motivate the employee to flourish their creativity to maximise the production (Braun et al., 2013).

Recommended human capital management style:

Human capital management (HCM), a strategic tactic to manage the employee and develop the skills, innovation skills and knowledge of the employee. This organisation has to focus on knowledge and insight instead of standards and metrics. Creating value of the employee and employee management through HCM will help this company. A strategic partner can be a good option for the company. HCM strategy will help the company to identify the human resources and skills, which is essential for the employee to support the company to accomplish its target.
