Behaviour Change and Employee Assistance Program: Strategies for Better Workplace Performance
Answered

Understanding Behavioural Change and its Causes

A behavioural change is demonstrated as a temporary or a permanent effect that is created in an individual’s behaviour as compared to that of previous behaviour. As influenced by Gayed et al. (2018), is regarded to be a mental disorder and this strategy is utilized for enhancing this disorder. A female employee had been facing issues of memory intervals, disorientation and incapability to emphasize and recall information. Considering her psychological state of mind, it is pretty much evident that she is in need for medical care as well as financial assistance due to which her job retention becomes crucial. There initiating “Employee Assistance Programme” is an apprehensible move by the company to ensure that employee gains access to special treatment programs which can be useful for the employee. On the other hand, provision of ambulance care in emergency situation and security to have weapons taken by police authorities without co-worker’s assistance, are the essential ways through which situation can get better.

Behaviour change is caused as a result of internal and external factors that leads a person to be highly involved with in a process of change. Internal factors include personality, beliefs, expectations as well as mental health. According to Yu et al. (2019), external factors on the hand comes from social class, culture as well as reference groups. In the context of the female employee, it can be evident that the behavioural changes were mainly a result of the internal causes. Based on threat assessment, the psychologist who was contacted for her medical diagnosis found out that she became depressed and anxious and had remembrances of her disengaged juvenile recollections. The test results were indicative that she had been admitted for higher intellectual functioning and voiced her anger ostensibly. Results from her test indicated that patterns of her anger were a result of psychological conditions from test results. On the other hand, her memory and transition were a result of the apprehension for intellectual capacity.
