Work on Your Informative Speech

The topic of my speech will be “Republic democratic of the Congo 101. Write about Economic of the Congo, Geography of the Congo and Congolese traditions”. Please continue to be productive as you work on the upcoming speeches, especially the informative speech, which is the first speech as stated repeatedly and provided in the syllabus. There are no posted exercises this week for you to complete, but as stated in class, your assignment is to be working on the speeches. I draw your attention AGAIN to the "Guidelines to the Speeches" and the example of the informative outline posted THREE successive weeks previously.

Please be aware that as you are completing work on the informative outline and speech, you should begin to work on the content for the second speech and outline (persuasive). Again, a copy of an informative outline was provided with earlier announcements, and notes on the speeches have been made available in modules 7 and 8.

I have provided many opportunities for us to discuss individual informative outlines and speeches in class, as there is no opportunity to correct the outline before you submit same for grading. The last page of the informative outline provided online (mentioned earlier), will also assist you with the full reference page. I drew your attention to page 165 of the COMM 6 textbook that deals with oral citations of sources to be used during the speech presentations. Again, ALL informative outlines are to be uploaded in the assignment section under the relevant assignment tab - Informative Speech Delivery, before the speeches begin, All outlines are due and should be uploaded BY Sunday, November 7, 2021 at 11:00 PM. Please upload. DO NOT copy and paste the document as I will not be able to correct it using the speed grader and this will earn you a zero for your submission.

Do not wait for the due time when everyone else is online to do the upload. It is to be uploaded BY that time, not at that time. You may upload any time before Sunday. If you do not make the due time you will have earned a zero for the assignment. The speeches will be presented according to the schedule provided below with dates for the presentations. Please be flexible, respectful, and patient as the online mode of engagement comes with many challenges. Refrain from having children and pets with you for these presentations as you are being graded and I will need to hear you well. Do dress appropriately as this is a part of the evaluation for each person. If you are using a PowerPoint for your presentation aid please print the slides and show them as you deliver your speech at the appropriate points or use the share content button to show each slide as necessary.

 Remember any aid should be big, bold, and uncluttered so that the listeners can see the information clearly. With these aids, less is definitely more!! Below are the dates and names for the informative outline submissions and presentations: Remember the rules for online engagement follow the ethical principles we discussed IN CHAPTER ONE inclusive of respect, fairness, honesty, and responsibility. Remember that there was an example of an outline for the informative speech provided with earlier announcements to assist you. Guidelines for the speeches were provided attached to earlier announcements as well.

A YouTube video of an informative speech that you can use as a guide, as well as examples of a PowerPoint and a clip as Presentation Aid were also provided. I am attaching a copy of a PERSUASIVE OUTLINE to this announcement to help you as you start preparing the persuasive outline and speech.
