This week, you have looked both classical and operant conditioning.  Please provide an example to promote learning for a real life situation based on each type of conditioning.

For example, I have just brought a new pet home and I would like to train that pet to stay off the couch. 

From a classical conditioning perspective, my example might show how I have paired a whistle and a treat to keep my pet off the couch.  Please list and explain what the UCS, NS, UCR, CS and CR are for your situation. 
Then from an operant conditioning perspective, I would describe how I could use various reinforcements and punishments to elicit the desired responses of staying off my couch.  Please list and explain how you would use both positive and negative reinforcement and positive and negative punishment for your situation.

Think of a different example (that does not involve pets in any way) that will show that you understand the difference between these two approaches.  Your explanation should not only list the 9 elements in bold, but also explain the process.
